Tallassee man arrested for receiving stolen property first degree

Auburn, Ala. - On June 25, 2024, Auburn Police arrested Randall Herbert Griffith, age 68, from Tallassee, Alabama, on a felony warrant charging him with receiving stolen property first degree.

The arrest stems from Auburn Police conducting a traffic stop on a stolen vehicle on June 8, 2024, near the 700 block of Martin Luther King Drive. Officers identified the driver as Randall Herbert Griffith and confirmed that the vehicle was reported stolen in another police jurisdiction. The stolen vehicle was recovered, and an investigation was initiated regarding the circumstances leading to Griffith’s possession of the vehicle.

The conclusion of the investigation resulted in police obtaining an arrest warrant for receiving stolen property first degree. Griffith was located by police on June 25, and he was arrested in obedience to the warrant.

Griffith was transported to the Lee County Jail and held on a $5,000 bond.

All defendants are innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
